August 31: Birthday Shopping.

Behold and look at this! I didn’t go to the mall to buy these things… these were the gifts I received on my birthday. Indeed, it was overwhelming for me even though this was my first time to go to school on my birthday! In the previous years, we didn’t have classes every August 31 for some holiday reasons which I cannot remember.
Angelo, my classmate, surprised me when he handed over this huge subtle paper bag. I was having delusions right then and there.. I didn’t know if I should accept it. In my mind, “What the.. seriously? Aldo? I want to own a pair of Aldo shoes.” Then, there he was holding one of things included in my birthday wishlist. Anyway, he was quite shy to give it to me personally.. but my naughty classmates convinced him. While walking towards me, my classmates were hooting, shouting and teasing him. Actually, I cannot blame them.. they got ‘kilig’ because of the grandeur gesture.
My mother was already admitted to St. Luke’s that day, she was accompanied by my two sisters. I received a text message from my sister asking the gifts I already received.. I narrated her the same story and she wanted to borrow it from me since we have the same shoe size! I’m not gonna lend it to her though, I have to use it first. Moreover, my elder sister asked if we’re already going out, if you know what I mean.
Paula and Kamille, my two bestfriends, gave me a bag from Girbaud. I never buy anything from Girbaud because the bags and wallets are beyond my tight student budget. But I patronize their products by dropping by their boutiques every time we go to the mall, that’s about it. Anyhow, it was color black and can I just say that I like it so much? The next day, I instantly used it. I brought it along with me when we visited my mother.. and she loved it, too! It’s spacious, big and black, the reasons why I loved it.
Some of my classmates and friends contributed to give me a cake and I wanna thank them! Sadly, I wasn’t able to take a picture of it.

I am a sucker for handwritten letters. Call me old-fashioned but I still appreciate this. I felt really touched and at the same time, giddy because of this. I love re-reading letters whenever I have the time.
