Demie suggested that I should watch this Korean drama entitled Flower Boy Ramyun Shop. At first, I was hesitant because I haven’t watched something like this for quite sometime.. but I’m glad I followed her recommendation. I finished it within 2 days because I got addicted with the protagonist’s handsome face! Here’s how I will narrate the story:
Yang Eun Bi is a senior college who is studying for exams to become a licensed teacher with a stable salary. Also, she is a former volleyball player when she was in junior high. Her father owns a ramyun shop near the school where she works for a student-teacher intern. In preparation for her exams, she consults a fortune teller asking if she would fail or pass the tests. The fortuneteller reveals that she got a ringing bell and kissing card.. Eun Bi doesn’t believe what it means so she went to the restroom. A good-looking guy named Cha Chi Soo suddenly storms in the cubicle where Eun Bi was and she could hear bells ringing in her ears. It turns out that Cha Chi Soo is the only son of the family who owns the largest conglomerate in Korea named Chasung.
Eun Bi thinks that Chi Soo is older than her. When in truth, she is 25 yrs. old while Chi Soo is 18 yrs. old, a mere highschool student who goes and owns the school she works for. This is where their love story develops as Eun Bi accidentally calls him, “Oppa” and asks him to date her. Chi Soo suddenly takes interest in her because he finds her unique. I really wouldn’t spoil you with details since this is a romance-comedy drama that will make you giddy. I’ve laughed several times and I can feel the ‘kilig vibes’ the whole time I was watching this.
Anyway, what is it with age in Korean dramas lately? Why does it have to be the girl who’s older and desperate? This reminds me of The Woman Who Still Wants to Marry. Why does the guy seems to be the rich and famous? Then, his parents would detest his relationship with the poor girl insisting that there’s a better one. Similar to Boys Over Flowers and The Secret Garden. All of the Koreanovelas I’ve seen, there’s always a resemblance in the story.. so I couldn’t help myself but to compare and relate them to one another.
