Adopt A Child First & Last

2 Major Activities for the first day of St. Paul’s Week: Field Demo and Adopt A Child.  The Field Demo is not something I’ll blog about because it’s all about dancing, the very thing I’m not good at. By the way, it only happens every two years.. the last time we had one was when I was in first year. On the other hand, our Religious Education teachers always prepare this Adopt A Child every year but I never got the chance to participate. This year, I was ecstatic to adopt a younger sister since I’m the youngest in the family. Here’s what happened through pictures:

As soon as the kiddos from Turo Elementary School arrived, the highschool students started to look for their adopted ‘siblings’. It was chaotic. There were so many of them!

Meet Roselyn Z. Duka, a pupil from 3-Sunflower. Note: My English teacher before told us to use “pupils” for Elementary and “students” for Highschool.

There’s something new in addition with the rides - the Inflatables! This was the first thing Roselyn wanted to try together with Paula’s and Shanine’s adopted sisters.

Then, we had to fall in line for our next stop (Ferris Wheel) and endure the heat (look at my squinting eyes!) Thank God some of my classmates (mostly boys) were also there with their younger brothers.. that it made all the waiting bearable.

The one beside me is Paula’s adopted sister whose name is the same with her younger sister, Liezl. Paula didn’t come with us because she was afraid! Anyway, Roselyn and Liezl are bestfriends just like the two of us!

I was beyond stoked when Roselyn liked what I prepared for her. But I was surprised when she told us that she had been to Boracay before. Beat that! The one standing is Shanine’s adopted child.

For Roselyn Duka. Every year, our school has this project “Adopt A Child”. The project is pretty much self-explanatory. In my 4 years of stay in SPCB, this is actually my first time to participate. I was fixing my stuff, saw these things and decided to give these to the girl I’m adopting on Tuesday. The bag was my school bag when I was in 6th grade while the shirt and wallet are still brand new. The books, I’m still quite hesitant if it will be of use to the girl. ;)
