I ♥ Prada, Not The Devil.

Graduating college and wanting to become a journalist, Andrea Sachs applies for a job in Runway fashion magazine. Without the enthusiasm and knowledge about the fashion industry, Miranda Priestly, Runway’s strict and well-known editor in chief accepts Andrea as her 2nd personal assistant. Andrea finds it very hard to keep up with everything she has been told to do: get coffee from Starbucks, pick-up clothes and assist Miranda Priestly, etc. On the verge of giving up at one point, she tries hard enough to catch the attention of everyone by working up on her fashion style with the help of her colleague. From then on, she’s busy with all the work that she wasn’t able to show up on her boyfriend’s birthday party. Unconsciously, her original plan is slipping away from her. Honestly, she thinks that this opportunity could give her an appropriate job somewhere as a decent writer. Eventually, her friends think that she has changed.
Anne Hathaway did a remarkable job of playing the role of Andrea Sachs. I couldn’t think of anyone else who could replace her. She’s just too glamorous and gorgeous not to be chosen as the main character. The movie had been released on 2006 and probably everyone had already seen it. I therefore conclude that I’m such a loser.. I watched it after 6 years. Also, this movie was based on a novel written by Lauren Weisberger. After watching it, I want to read the book as well. Funny how people would say that reading the book first is quite helpful and fulfilling before watching the film. In my case, I don’t get bored reading the novel after seeing its movie adaptation. Did I made myself clear? Or am I that confusing?

I bet this movie cost thousands of dollars! According to my research, “Many designers allowed their clothes and accessories to be used in the film, making it the most expensively costumed film in history.” Source: Wikipedia
If given the chance, I really would like to be in Anne Hathaway’s position. See right there? Being able to hold and to wear such expensive shoes, bags and clothes is a girl’s dream come true. Jimmy Choo, Chanel, Dolce and Gobbana, Calvin Klein.. you name it, they have it!
