City Hunter is probably one of my favorite Korean dramas ever. The main reason why I loved this is because of Lee Min Ho starred as the main character. During his Boys Over Flowers day, I’ve already had my eyes on him. Then, I also watched Personal Taste.
I’m not gonna tell all the details of what this drama is all about because it’s still airing in ABS-CBN Primetime. The story mainly revolves around revenge creating action-filled scenes. Of course, a romance develops between the City Hunter and a girl slashed bodyguard but they can never be together. Their relationship is dangerous. There are a lot of twists and turns. In the end, there’s a shocking revelation that you need to watch out for!
PS: Funny thing is, all of the characters in the drama are using Iphone! Even the girl who has a lot of debts to pay uses Iphone.. it’s ridiculous!

Demie suggested that I should watch this Korean drama entitled Flower Boy Ramyun Shop. At first, I was hesitant because I haven’t watched something like this for quite sometime.. but I’m glad I followed her recommendation. I finished it within 2 days because I got addicted with the protagonist’s handsome face! Here’s how I will narrate the story:
Yang Eun Bi is a senior college who is studying for exams to become a licensed teacher with a stable salary. Also, she is a former volleyball player when she was in junior high. Her father owns a ramyun shop near the school where she works for a student-teacher intern. In preparation for her exams, she consults a fortune teller asking if she would fail or pass the tests. The fortuneteller reveals that she got a ringing bell and kissing card.. Eun Bi doesn’t believe what it means so she went to the restroom. A good-looking guy named Cha Chi Soo suddenly storms in the cubicle where Eun Bi was and she could hear bells ringing in her ears. It turns out that Cha Chi Soo is the only son of the family who owns the largest conglomerate in Korea named Chasung.
Eun Bi thinks that Chi Soo is older than her. When in truth, she is 25 yrs. old while Chi Soo is 18 yrs. old, a mere highschool student who goes and owns the school she works for. This is where their love story develops as Eun Bi accidentally calls him, “Oppa” and asks him to date her. Chi Soo suddenly takes interest in her because he finds her unique. I really wouldn’t spoil you with details since this is a romance-comedy drama that will make you giddy. I’ve laughed several times and I can feel the ‘kilig vibes’ the whole time I was watching this.
Anyway, what is it with age in Korean dramas lately? Why does it have to be the girl who’s older and desperate? This reminds me of The Woman Who Still Wants to Marry. Why does the guy seems to be the rich and famous? Then, his parents would detest his relationship with the poor girl insisting that there’s a better one. Similar to Boys Over Flowers and The Secret Garden. All of the Koreanovelas I’ve seen, there’s always a resemblance in the story.. so I couldn’t help myself but to compare and relate them to one another.

Wonderful Life
It was broadcast by ABS-CBN in April 2006 in the Philippines. But I just have seen this Korean drama this week. It was all about Han Seung Wan and Jung Se Jin’s adventure about their love life together with Lee Chae Young and Min Do Hyun. They met at the airport during their trip to Singapore. Having been depressed and broken hearted, they poured their feelings out by drinking. They ended up having a one-night stand. Jung Se Jin showed signs of being pregnant while Han Seung Wan pursued his dream of becoming a pilot. At the end, they were married and kept their daughter named Han Shin Bi. Han Shin Bi was diagnosed to have Leukemia and they were struggling to have a bone marrow donor. That’s how short I can summarize the whole story with 16 episodes.
This taught me several lessons in life: Being a teenager, you are prone to discovering things on your own. You have to be careful because in life, you should expect the unexpected. You will make your own decisions and you need to face the consequences of your actions. It tells you that having fun is okay but you must know when to be serious in certain circumstances. Family and marriage should not be rushed. It is built slowly, like, laying bricks when building a house. When you are in love, it makes you weak and you become scared. In the contrary, as they say, love conquers all. It helps you boost your bravery. Lastly, when problems come your way, nothing makes it easier. You must not give up.
To end this post, did I say I cry while watching some episodes? Particularly when they found out about Shin Bi’s illness. The kid who starred as Shin Bi was a great actress. She’s so adorable. She’s cute.

The past few days I have not been active because I was busy. I watched this Korean series entitled Playful Kiss. Also known as Mischievous Kiss. My friends were suggesting that I should watch this one and I promised them to see this if I have free time. Now, I was bored and fulfilled my promise. I got hooked up instantly. Sorry, but I really need to finish this one before ending the Christmas break. I finished this in 2 days, it was short. It has 16 episodes.
It is all about a popular and genius male student named Baek Seung Jo who has an intimidating personality. He’s pretty good at everything. Be it, cooking, playing table tennis or academically speaking. He does everything without much effort. Because of that, he’s famous. His IQ is 200 and he always perfected his exams. The other protagonist is Oh Ha Ni. She belongs in Class 7, one of the ‘bottom’ students. Being stubborn and stupid, all she can do is smile and be happy. One day, a mild earthquake destroys their house. Oh Ha Ni together with her dad, ended up living in Baek Seung Jo’s house. Oh Ha Ni’s father and Baek Seung Jo’s dad are best friends during their early days. To be more thrilling, Oh Ha Ni has been crushing on Baek Seung Jo for almost four years. They go to the same school. The girl has to keep this boy in her heart even though he doesn’t show any sign of interest in her. This romance should be an adventure of interaction for two completely different people.
It was also my first time to watch something.. that I felt irritated. You might not understand what I am saying, so, I suggest that you should watch this immediately. The girl was chasing the boy. I mean, if you do that nowadays, people will call you, “desperate” or “flirt” or worse, “clingy”. She was a hard core stalker. She has only liked one guy for four years.. don’t get me wrong, but I’m in highschool and I have a lot of crushes. Plus, she’s stupid and dependent on other people. Her world revolved around Baek Seung Jo. Why is it that everytime I watch a Korean drama.. the girl protagonist is always the clumsy one and the boy is the smart one? Anyway, their opposite character makes them a cute couple. The girl makes the boy happy. While the boy takes good care of the girl. They absolutely need each other. On the other hand, I was really pissed off with the boy because he didn’t even know his true feelings. He kept acting cold towards Oh Ha Ni, tormenting her by ignoring her. His friend, his brother, and his mother knew that he already likes Oh Ha Ni but he kept on denying it. In his opinion, Oh Ha Ni was a problem that can not be solved because he didn’t know the answer. He was having a hard time so he tried to avoid her. I guess, love is really complicated.
This series is funny, too. The girl gave a love letter. The boy returned it flooded with red labels, correcting her wrong grammar. He even gave a score, D minus. I just can’t get over. I also love Baek Seung Jo’s mother and his little brother. They are both awesome! This is enough. I don’t want to be a spoiler.
